Weddings in at Isandlawana and Rorke's Drift

Fugitives’ Drift is widely regarded as one of South Africa’s premier destinations. Thank you for affording us the opportunity to make your wedding one that you have always dreamt of.

From the sheer natural beauty of our property, exceptional accommodation and cuisine along with the highly trained attentive team, Fugitives’ Drift has what it takes to make your day a resounding success.

We have found that whilst it is an event that most brides dream about for many years, it has the potential to become overwhelming trying to co-ordinate all the components of putting the big day together and ensuring that the budget is understood. With this in mind we have put together our wedding package to include as much as possible, only excluding the very personal choices that affect the day.

We understand that the perfect wedding has many variables. It is for this reason that we try to make each one as individual as possible, so please feel free to ask any questions regarding the information set out in the following pages.

The ceremony will take place at the historic Rorke’s Drift Church (a 20 minute drive from Fugitives’ Drift), conducted by The Very Reverend Mbatha, followed by the reception at the Harford Library, which has panoramic views over the Buffalo River Gorge and the mountain of Isandlwana, and will be tastefully decorated and supported by trained staff to ensure that you and your guests enjoy this occasion.

The wedding package is tailor-made making the event one that is solely focused on the bridal party from 14h00 on the day of check in, a full day the following day (the wedding day), until 10h00 on the morning of departure. The property (inclusive of accommodation for 40 guests) will be closed to any other guests during this time and the entire team of staff will be focused on creating an unforgettable experience for everyone. An example of an itinerary would be:

It has 3 bedrooms, sitting room with fire place, dining room, kitchen and only 1 bathroom, with a bath, basin and toilet. There is a double rose hot shower outside. A cost of R 2 000.00 for the wedding reception venue.

Tours:
Fugitives’ Drift is world renowned for our flagship tours to the battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift. It can be arranged that guests go on tour on the afternoon of arrival to the battle of Rorke’s Drift and then the battle of Isandlwana the morning before the wedding. The cost of these tours are R 910.00 per person (R 695.00 April to August 2011) including both the Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana tours.

With the package structured this way – what many brides do is ask the guests to settle their own accommodation for the weekend. The costs above are broken down into per person per night or per room. The amounts above include the cost of the entire evening which also includes the wedding function itself. The bride and groom will have complimentary accommodation at the Lodge for both evenings.

Remember that you are welcome to distribute the costs in any way that you wish at your discretion. This is a confidential contract between Fugitives’ Drift and yourself and as such no financial information will be disclosed to any third party. The monetary arrangement is directly between the bride and their guests and although they can see on the internet our normal rates, the package that you have been offered is “fully inclusive”.
